Presentation Without Any Electronic Device?

I keep asking the principal if there will be an infocus or something in our school, to help the learning process more interesting and easy. But, our school is a newborn baby, its very hard for us to maximizing our  facilities. There should be a confusing procedure and the whole school too busy mending anything else.

In my Entrepreneurship class, I have plan to give the students a homework; identifying a success entrepreneur. And they should do presentation in the front of the class. I tired enough to wait the infocus come, so I decide they should make their own flip chart --or something creative, to help them explaining about the entrepreneur to their friends.

Here are the list of entrepreneur that they should identified:
  1. Enzo Ferarri
  2. Henry Ford
  3. Mark Zuckerberg
  4. Edward Forrer
  5. Coco Channel
  6. Hendra Arifin
  7. Chairul Tanjung
  8. Ray Croc
  9. Jack Dorsey
  10. Pramono Donny
  11. Andrew darwis
  12. Jerry Baldwin
  13. Jerry Yang
  14. Larry Page
  15. Bob sadino
  16. Walt Disney
  17. Steve Jobs
  18. Bill Gates
  19. Thomas Alva Edison
  20. Ralph Lauren
  21. Estee Lauder
  22. Adolf Dassler
  23. Donald Trump
  24. Torakusu Yamaha
  25. Eiji Toyoda
  26. Au Bintoro
  27. Jhonny Andrean
  28. etc...

At first, students looks so scruple. You know, not all the students love to do crafting-thingy. I give them two weeks to finish their project

After two weeks, I'm not disappointed with the result. All the five class, (total 31 groups) made their best. I can't take the picture of all of them, but here's some picture while they presenting the project.

Circular Flow Diagram

Last week, i try to explain about circular flow diagrams. In economic, it is a diagram that show us the connection between producers and consumers.
It will be easy if I use power point; i can show the visual picture and explain it easily. But, my creativity was tested again while there wasn't any infocus yet in my school.

So, this what I've done:
Using printed visual picture, redraw the diagrams, and voila! I can explain well and Alhamdulillah, the students understand my explanation.

Jadi, jangan bairkan keterbatasan membatasi semangat mengajarmu ya? http://eemoticons.net

Sistem Ekonomi, Oh My God!!!

Kenapa gue tulis "Oh My God" di judulnya?

TUGAS:
Cari: Pengertian, Sejarah pemikiran, tokoh, ciri-ciri, kelebihan, dan kekurangan dai SISTEM EKONOMI berikut:
  • Sistem ekonomi kapitalis
  • sistem ekonomi sosialis
  • sistem ekonomi campuran
  • sistem ekonomi komando
  • sistem ekonomi pasar
  • sistem ekonomi syariah

Voila! They're mixed up ;P

  1. DREAM (Mimpi)
  2. DECISIVENESS (Tegas)
  3. DOING (Melakukan)
  4. DETERMINATION (Komitmen, Kebulatan tekad)
  5. DEDICATION (Dedikasi)
  6. DEVOTION (Mengabdi)
  7. DETAILS (Rinci)
  8. DOLLARS (Uang)
  9. DESTINY (Nasib)
  10. DISTRIBUTE (Menyebarkan/menyalurkan kewajiban)

What you need

Potongan huruf. Tulis kesepuluh karakteristik dan gunting per huruf.

Masukkan pada amplop dan beri nomor. Satu amplop mendapat potongan huruf dari dua karakteristik,

Langkah Pekerjaan

Sayangnya, gue nggak sempet ambil foto ketika pelaksanaan.

Using Mind Maps

Menjadi guru ekonomi memang susah-susah gampang.

Needs and Wants.

image from wikipedia,

English Club First Meeting Activity

It's all about greeting!
I'm so excited in the first day meeting with English Club participants, yet so nervous. In my school where I work, we just have 5 class with about 30 students each. So, I don't expect for too many students that interest to join English Club.

My expectation was right, for the first meeting, we have just about 20 participants and there's just two boys. They call me "Miss Vicky" if we're meet in English Club activity, and I told them that I'm their friend, facilitator, not just teacher in our extracurricular activity.

They haven't known any other yet, so I  decided to make a mainstream greeting, and a mini game to make them remember the whole class' name.

The "mainstream greeting" section is just like the mainstream greeting; I told all the students to stand and introduce themselves one by one. I ask them to told us their name, their class, their hobby, their dream, and their motivation to join English club. Students look not too exciting to do this section. Anyway, their mainly motivation to join English club are their wish to be fluent in English.

After the mainstream greeting section, I copy one of the methods that I found in Youtube days ago. Here is the video

Yup, i used that "word chain game" and modified it to be a "Remembering your friends' name" but with same methods. I brought a little panda (It's stuffed toy, exactly. A tiny doll) because i have no toy-ball to throw.

Firstly, I ask the students to make a circle, and I throw the stuffed panda to one of them, randomly. Then I ask them; "show me which is Imelsa?" and the student who catch the panda should throw it to someone whose name Imelsa, and its going on.

Student start to excited to this game, especially when I change the question to another detail one, like: "Show me, your friend whom want to be a movie director?" If they focus when the mainstream greeting section, they will guessing true. But if not, and they make three mistakes in guessing friend, they will be punished. The punishment is to singing in the middle of circle.

The students look so excited. They laughing and singing, some was blushing red while singing. after that, I try the word chain games too, and some students who fail in this game, was punished and they should perform a girl-band-like-dancing in front of class. Our afternoon was full of laugh.

Hope next meeting will be fun too.http://eemoticons.nethttp://eemoticons.net

English Club. Hmmmbrr

If you're a grammar nazi and you read my blog in detail, I'm sure you're going to explode because i've made many grammatical error in this blog. Sorry for that. I confess that my English is poor, both written and spoken. But, did you know that i have a big interest in learning English? I just have basic English because my hobby; I love to watching western movies and listening western song, it make me eager to learn English more.

I start writing statuses, blog post, etc in English but still have no idea did my English are okay or not. If my written English still poor, can you imagine how poor does my spoken English? I'm not fluently enough in speaking English, always feeling nervous every time I blabbering in English. And in this poor condition, I received a shocking job duty; BEING A COACH IN ENGLISH CLUB in my school!!!
  http://eemoticons.net

I'm considering this duty much, I can't sleep well thinking about what will I do, what if there's student who can talk fluently than I do, what if I speak wrong, blabbering wrong, what if.. what if.. what if..
http://eemoticons.net
BUT, I'm one who like a challenge in my career. And I think, this is the best moment that I can drilled myself to study english more. So, I take this job and the first meeting just held yesterday. I even make a poster to gather the participans.

Okay, I know that I'm not good at designing. My sense for mix-matching colors are bad. I choose red, black and white to represent England Flag, but it makes me remember about the envelope colors. So I print it in grayscale.

I will write about the first meeting yesterday. Keep reading guys ;)

A very very late post; Ramadhan Activity

I feel so excited when Ramadhan Month came, especially because I've got a new job and just started work in School for about two weeks.

What did your school usually held when Ramadhan come?

People (especially in Moslem-dominated country like Indonesia), will say it'll be "Sanlat" in their school. Yep, a short course that focus at Islamic studies but, very fun too.

In my school where I worked, we held 4 days Sanlat and in day 4, we held many Islamic competition such as Tahsin Competition, Caligraphic-writing Competition, Poem-reading Competition, Muadzin Competition, and, guess what, Islamic Fashion Show Competition!

I have huge interest to fashion, even I don't understand fashion that well. And Im very excited, REAL excited to watch my students cat-walking and posing in a fancy islamic fashion.

Here are some pic
